Speaker:   Professor Pantano, Associate Professor, UTD

Program:  Biomedical applications and Toxicity Assessments of Carbon Nanotubes

Program Description:  Dr. Pantano will discuss the application of Carbon Nanotubes.

BIO:     Dr. Pantano’s work involves improving the accuracy of nanomaterial toxicity assessments, and advancing the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of nanomaterials. The  areas of expertise include the physiochemical characterization of nanomaterials, the reproducible preparation of purified nanomaterial samples, and direct measurements of metal oxide and carbon nanomaterials inside mammalian cells and aquatic organisms. Dr. Pantano is also interested in developing label-free methods to detect carbon nanomaterial contamination in workplace areas.
