Selling 101 for Engineers

The IEEE Dallas section is sponsoring this social event and we plan to have a networking buffet dinner with cake cutting at the end and a group photo. In between the dinner we will be having some of the IEEE members share their experiences about IEEE.

The celebration starts at 6pm and we plan to wrap up by 8pm.

Mark Fisher, founder of 3rd Generation Engineers made August’s meeting a success. His wealth of knowledge surely contributed to his business success.

September should be another interesting meeting with Zac Trahan,D/FW Program Director of Tx Campaign for the Environment. We’ll learn more about what we as engineers need to know and do to protect our environment.

Speaker: Mark Fisher, PE

Description: Mark Fisher, PE is a 3rd Generation engineer. He will discuss his business strategy that allowed him to start and build a thriving engineering consulting company. Come hear what he’s learned about engineering, project management and business that you can apply to your career.
Bio:  Mr. Fisher has more than 18 years of engineering experience in the design, project management and construction oversight of Electrical and Instrumentation systems for projects throughout the United States. His experience includes preliminary design memorandums & feasibility studies, electrical and instrumentation design, system analysis, power coordination, arc flash hazard assessments, and construction inspections.  He has a Bachelors of Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE) in 1993 from the Univ. of Oklahoma. He is a Professional Engineer in Texas, Oklahoma, and 6 other states.

I’m so looking forward to hearing about Social Media and Business from Mindy Rayer.

Here’s her bio:

 Mindy Rayer is the Founder and Digital Strategist at Highway 2 Digital, a consulting company located in Dallas/Fort Worth that helps businesses develop ROI-focused social media strategies and build their online brand presence.

Ms. Rayer’s specialties include social media delivery that integrates; content strategies, SEO, email, video and website conversion tactics. Her experience in online marketing stretches across a variety of industries including healthcare, non-profit, education, manufacturing, sports, financial, consumer goods, energy, entertainment, technology and hospitality. With this breadth of digital campaign experience, Mindy and her team bringing agility and flexibility to meet client’s pressing business needs whether they serve in the not-for-profit, B2B or B2C sectors.

For non-profit work her online marketing efforts have benefited the fund-raising and branding efforts of a list of collegiate clientele including University of Notre Dame, Columbia Business School, Rhodes College and University of South Carolina. She has also been involved with commercial production for Conference USA.

As a digital strategist, her projects have focused on online conversion and engagement strategies for Fortune 500 companies including Yum! International, Dr. Pepper/Snapple and IBM where she worked on the development and launch of a technology-focused social media site. Her specialty is helping implement ROI-focused social strategies while speaking to a company’s entire online marketing presence.
