May 13 speaker and author Robert Gray, and Shoring Up Ourselves: An Inspirational Story of Never Giving Up Hardcover – now available

here is the link on Amazon:

As a fire department captain living about a mile from the Pentagon, author Bob Gray led a team of firefighters to battle the fires caused by the passenger aircraft when it struck the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. He was then reassigned as a collapse team leader until the structure was safe enough to be handed over to the FBI investigation teams. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would be faced with anything quite as perilous and challenging. But he was wrong.

Ten years later, shortly after retiring from the Arlington County Fire Department as a battalion chief, a routine home-cleaning project nearly took Bob’s life.

Shoring Up Ourselves: An Inspiring Story of Never Giving Up tells the story of how Bob’s perseverance through his challenging recovery forged a driving passion to help inspire others fight for their own recovery, conquer challenges, and never give up.

  •  Inspired by our June 2020 program presenter Bob Popsick and 3D Printing, IEEE CN member Jeff Tregre went to work on his 3D Printing. Here’s the printer that he purchased in April, which cost $279 & he saw it drop down to $255 earlier. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=36696
    Here’s Jeff’s handiwork:

  •  Joe Miller, CN Member, helped out a friend using Bob Popsick’s help. Joe’s neighbor had a favorite shopping cart with a wheel that she could not replace.  Bob Popsick and his 3D printing to the rescue!!!!!

Here’s their handiwork:

First Bob made the wheel.                   Then Joe assembled:

Congratulations to our 2019 IEEE Dallas Section Awards winner from Consultants Network Nominees:

David Stevens, Steve Ruzic, Ted Houston, and Jeff Tregre.

1.  David Stephens:
David Stephens is a selfless volunteer who is reliable and thorough. His attention to detail allows our CN meetings to flow smoothly and to be held. It’s too much work for one person to schedule speakers, handle publicity and manage the meeting. David does all the in meeting logistics to prepare the sign in sheets, arrive early and be the smiling face greeting members and guests. He is a true asset for our group!
2.  Ted Houston:
The most important part of a meeting to encourage attendance is a talented relevant speaker. These speakers are often hard to come by. Ted helped get a speaker for our 2020 program by making numerous calls and ensuring our meeting success.  He is a regular meeting attendee which always adds to the meeting being well attended.
3. Steve Ruzic:
The most important part of a meeting to encourage attendance is a talented relevant speaker. These speakers are often hard to come by. Steve helped get a speaker for our 2020 program by making numerous calls and ensuring our meeting success.  He is a regular meeting attendee which always adds to the meeting being well attended.
4. Jeff Tregre:

Jeff was an active member by presenting not one, but 2 very well received programs for the CN group. His program on Electro Magnetic Pulse was well researched, well presented and well received.  He took a considerable amount of time to research the relevant videos that made his program so compelling. In addition, he volunteered to start our year off with another well received program:  Cell Phone Apps you Can’t Live without. His extensive research showed us apps that not only were useful, but were not energy drains on our phones.
